This detailed Atlas Master Gold EMD SD50 diesel locomotive is based on the 16-cylinder, 3,500-horsepower road units introduced in the early 1980s. Within a few years they were succeeded by the extremely popular SD60. This EMD SD50 scale replica comes equipped with a dual-mode ESU LokSound Select sound and DCC dual-mode decoder for operation on DCC and DC layouts, and features a Scale Speed(TM) motor with dual flywheels, directional LED lighting, working ditch lights and AccuMate(R) magnetic knuckle couplers.
