Description
The freelance Maryland Southern 86′ Auto Parts Box Car is the modern offering in this release. The paint scheme represents an early 2000’s repaint featuring conspicuity stripes and revised data.
Doug Carey, the creator of the Maryland Southern, models the modern era. Inspired by the Western Maryland as well as his state pride, the hi-lights of this car are Western Maryland font as well as the stunning logo that incorporates the Maryland flag!
We offer this car in two road numbers, MDSO 510230 and MDSO 510247. Be sure to add both cars to your collection and check out the “Maryland Southern Railway” Facebook page to learn more about the freelance world of Doug Carey!
This car was produced exclusively for Home Shops by Tangent Scale Models as part of their January 2023 release. The 1977-1978 Greenville Steel Car Company car body is the prototype offered in this run, so all cars will have a Built Date within that range. The most notable feature of this production range is five grab irons on each side–previous designs only had four.
As with all Tangent cars you will find them laden with many fine details and extremely crisp paint edges. Be sure to take out the magnifying glass and read the unique trust stenciling! Metal wheels, scale metal Kadee couplers, and rotating journal endcaps are standard on all cars in this release.
