Bring classic southeastern coal service to your N scale railroad with this beautifully detailed Atlas Master Line Pullman-Standard PS-2750 3-Bay Hopper 3-Pack decorated for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad’s iconic “Dixie Line” fleet.
Built beginning in the 1950s, the Pullman-Standard PS-2750 hopper became one of the most recognizable coal hoppers of the era. Designed for heavy-duty coal service, these rugged 70-ton cars featured sixteen side posts, distinctive ribbed construction, and the clean, purposeful styling that made Pullman-Standard freight cars legendary across American railroads. More than 16,000 prototype cars were built between 1954 and 1971, making them a staple of coal drags and general freight operations for decades.
Few railroads embraced the PS-2750 design more heavily than the Louisville & Nashville Railroad. L&N operated massive coal fleets throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and surrounding regions, hauling Appalachian coal to industries and ports across the Southeast. Their bold “Dixie Line” lettering became an unmistakable sight on coal trains throughout the 1960s, 1970s, and into the early Seaboard and Family Lines era.
Atlas captures these classic hoppers with sharp lettering, crisp paint application, and finely rendered details that look outstanding in unit coal trains or mixed freight consists.
