Product Overview

Broadway Limited Imports brings its popular Fox River Track Inspection Car to N scale, recreating a distinctive passenger car with a fascinating history spanning several railroads. Originally built by Pullman-Standard in 1954 for Canadian National Railway, the car entered service as a sleeper and later continued operating under VIA Rail Canada until 1984.

Milwaukee Rail Car subsequently transformed the former sleeper into a theater and track inspection car for the Chicago & North Western Railway. C&NW purchased the car in 1985, renumbered it No. 420, and named it Fox River after the river flowing through much of the railroad's Wisconsin territory.

Following Union Pacific's 1995 acquisition of the Chicago & North Western, the Fox River became part of Union Pacific's renowned heritage passenger fleet. The car underwent an extensive renovation in 1997 and continues to serve as a distinctive theater and inspection car. Its unusual appearance and railroad heritage make the Fox River a standout addition to business trains, inspection consists, excursion trains, and passenger car collections.
