Product Overview

The EMD GP35 was a four-axle diesel-electric road switcher built during the mid-1960s by EMD and General Motors Diesel. More than 1,300 GP35s were produced, with the locomotive finding homes on many major railroads throughout the United States as well as operators in Canada and Mexico. Powered by EMD's 16-cylinder 567D3A engine, the GP35 produced 2,500 horsepower and became a familiar part of North American freight operations.

Broadway Limited's HO scale GP35 combines that classic EMD profile with extensive road-specific detailing and lighting. CSX #4386 is especially interesting thanks to its Chessie System appearance with CSX patching, capturing the transitional look of equipment that continued wearing predecessor paint after becoming part of CSX. Factory-installed Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC provides sound and advanced control for operation on either DC or DCC layouts.
