This is one that should have been made — so Rapido made it. Santa Fe famously applied patriotic Bicentennial decoration to a number of SD45-2 locomotives in 1976, and that eye-catching red, white, and blue treatment inspired this special CF7 interpretation.

ATSF #2526 combines that imaginative Bicentennial appearance with the extensive detail found throughout Rapido's CF7 line, including a heavy die-cast chassis, etched-metal details, separately applied metal handrails and grab irons, a fully detailed multi-color cab interior, extensive lighting, and the distinctive Stratolite beacon mounted on the cab roof. This version comes factory equipped with DC/DCC operation and ESU LokSound for a complete sound-equipped operating experience right out of the box.

Why We Love This Model

This one is pure model-railroad fun. The Santa Fe Bicentennial scheme is already memorable on the locomotives that actually wore it, and applying the same design language to a CF7 creates a convincing "what if" that feels surprisingly natural.
