Modern power meets exceptional value with the WalthersMainline HO Scale GE ET44AC Evolution Series GEVO Tier 4 locomotive. Featuring all-new tooling and loaded with premium features typically found on higher-end models, this locomotive is perfect for contemporary freight operations and modern-era layouts.

CSX

CSX Transportation is one of the largest freight railroads in the eastern United States, operating a vast network that stretches from the Atlantic Coast to the Midwest and Gulf Coast. Formed in 1986 through the merger of Chessie System and Seaboard System Railroads, the railroad’s name combines the “C” from Chessie and the “S” from Seaboard, with the “X” symbolizing the many predecessor railroads that helped create the modern system.

Known for its deep blue-and-yellow locomotive paint scheme, CSX power has become a familiar sight across the eastern half of North America. The railroad handles a huge variety of freight traffic including intermodal containers, automotive shipments, coal, grain, chemicals, and general merchandise service.

CSX was an early adopter of GE Evolution Series locomotives and operates a large fleet of modern GEVO power, including the ET44AC Tier 4. These locomotives combine high horsepower with improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions, making them ideal for heavy mainline freight operations across CSX’s busy network.

One of the most popular railfan locations in the country is CSX’s famous “RF&P” corridor and the rugged mountain territory around Sand Patch Grade in Pennsylvania and Maryland, where powerful modern locomotives can often be seen battling steep grades with long freight trains. CSX is also well known for operating fast intermodal trains linking East Coast ports with major inland distribution centers.

The railroad’s heritage includes famous predecessor lines such as the Baltimore & Ohio, Chesapeake & Ohio, Louisville & Nashville, Seaboard Air Line, and Atlantic Coast Line—many of the most historic railroads in American transportation history.

For HO scale modelers, CSX ET44AC locomotives are perfect for modern eastern freight operations, intermodal service, coal drags, and contemporary mainline railroading from the Midwest to the Atlantic Coast.
