First introduced with the Space Shuttle program in 1981, NASA's rocket train carried solid rocket boosters from Morton Thiokol in Utah to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The train used massive four-truck flatcars to carry rocket components beneath protective hoods, with selected cars also equipped with refrigeration units to maintain a consistent temperature for sensitive propellant loads.

Finished in an unmistakable NASA scheme, this model offers a direct connection to the specialized rail equipment that supported both the Space Shuttle and Artemis programs. Its striking appearance and unusual proportions make it a standout addition to any HO scale freight roster.
