Northern Pacific and the 36' Wood Chip Hopper

The Northern Pacific Railway was one of the major transcontinental railroads in the United States, operating across the northern tier from the Great Lakes to the Pacific Northwest. Known for serving heavily forested regions in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana, the railroad handled large amounts of lumber and forest products traffic throughout the mid-20th century.
