Introduced in the late 1960s especially for lumber service, the 56' Thrall All-Door Boxcar from WalthersProto(R) makes a unique and colorful addition to HO freight operations. Designed to protect weather-sensitive building materials and simplify loading and unloading, the design featured large sliding side doors for easy access, and many remained in service into the early 2000s.

Sacramento Valley Moulding, operating under the TCAX reporting mark, specialized in the production and distribution of moulding, millwork, and other wood-based building products throughout the western United States. Serving the construction and home improvement industries, the company depended on reliable rail transportation to move large quantities of finished lumber products efficiently and economically. The 56' Thrall All-Door Boxcar was particularly well-suited for this service, offering wide side access for forklifts to quickly load and unload bundled moulding, trim, and millwork products.
